Ghaziabad: The Forum for People's Collective Efforts (FPCE) honoured 15 buyers fighting against the non-delivery of their flats by developers on various platforms like RERA, Consumer Forums, Courts, Social Media etc. During this function, strategies were also devised to curb builders' malpractices and facilitate homebuyers in their struggle to get a roof over their heads. Abhay Upadhyay, president, FPCE (formerly known as Fight for RERA), said that the forum had identified across the country the buyers who have been waging a long, eventful crusade against builders.
The buyers, felicitated during the function, included Surendra Kumar, Amit Gupta, Shilpi, Vishal Duggal and Meeta Duggal, who narrated the story of their struggle in a resolute voice. During this event, many dignitaries including retired Lieutenant General SK Bahri, FPCE functionaries Abhay Upadhyay, Colonel TPS Tyagi, Major General Ranjit Singh, and MK Seth were present.
During the function, the following proposals were also passed as part ofthe future strategies to save homebuyers:
1) Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) should prepare guidelines for both developers and homebuyers to eliminate corruption in the real estate sector and reduce litigation. For this, investment in ready-to-move properties should be encouraged.
2) The MoHUA should ensure that homeowners get the benefits of the RERA orders within 90 days from the date of their passage. In this connection, the Central Government should establish a proper mechanism in consultation with the respective State Governments.

Speaking at the function, Lieutenant General Bahri said that this is a unique initiative made by the FPCE and it will certainly give the crucial moral support to homebuyers in their battle against unscrupulous developers.
FPCCI president Abhay Upadhyay reiterated the demand of declaring March 10 as the Homebuyers’ Day so that adequate awareness could be generated with regard to the protection of homebuyers’ interests in real estate projects.
FPCE vice-president Col (Retd) TP Tyagi said that homebuyers are facing difficulties in executing orders of RERA. The FPCE will ensure that MoHUA takes effective measures to implement the proposals passed by FPCE from time to time.

The autumn Navratri (nine sacred days and nights) form one of the auspicious times in the Hindu calendar. On the ninth day of Navratri, which is a symbolic day of victory, arms and other symbols of the warrior are worshipped in northern India. In Rajasthan, famous for its cavalry charges, this day is also marked by the worship of war animals like the elephant and the horse. The worship of the horse, Ashwa Poojan, continues till date. The horses that are part of the rituals are those belonging to the 'Marwari' breed, a distinct internationally recognized breed that is threatened with extinction.  MMCF and Shriji Arvind Singh Mewar of Udaipur, has set up the Equine Institute Udaipur to maintain a viable population of this culturally important animal. They are fully bred and nurtured by Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation, Udaipur. In the earlier tradition of Mewar, Maharana used to perform Gaj (Elephant) worship too with Vedic hymns after Ashwa Poojan sitting at Nagina Badi.
