Builders flout UP-RERA directive to provide updates on their projects

UP-RERA had issued a press release dated 29.07.2019 which mentions its decision of imposing a fine of Rs 2 lakh on projects whose promoters fail to set quarterly targets and Rs 1 lakh on those promoters who did not provide an updated report on the realisation of these targets on the UP-RERA portal http://www.up-rera.in.
But developers in Uttar Pradesh continue to avoid updating the status and progress report of their projects on the UP-RERA portal. A case in point is Antriksh Realtech Pvt Ltd that has till date failed to update the current status of its project Antriksh Sanskriti UPRERAPRJ10818 whereas its project completion deadline of 23.04.2019 has expired long back.
It is clear that in a blatant violation of the norms of Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016, the Promoter of Antriksh Sanskriti has failed to disclose the status and progress of the project.
The erring builder has wilfully avoided filing quarterly updates on project targets on the UP-RERA portal. The Promoter has, in fact, not at all bothered to furnish details regarding the percentage of construction completed and pictures shot at the site with date and time.
ASWA urges UP-RERA authority to penalise all such defaulting developers for not updating the status and progress details of their projects on the UP-RERA portal. The current status and the progress of every project registered on UP-RERA portal should regularly updated by all Prompters in compliance with RERA norms.
